Numazu is a city in Japan located in the Shizuoka Prefecture. This special city is quite nice as it is located near many hot springs, something highly sought after when relocating to Japan. A census conducted in 2005 reported that the estimated population is 211,000 people living in the 153km area.

The Numazu port creates numerous great industries thriving on and near the water. Distribution, seafood, and village shops visited from people living all around and in Japan.

Numazu is most recognized for its above average living conditions and government aid. The policy of the city is to take care of everyone, making sure that all health, education, and physical living needs are met. This has brought many wonderful people into the city.

Numazu is home to the Baird Brewing Company, a beer maker which most of the world has come to enjoy. This family business was founded by a couple, husband and wife, in early 2000.

History of Numazu

  • 1950 First electric train is built from Tokyo to Numazu.

Throughout the history of the city many warships have visited the ports of Numazu. While there are many famous ships that have touched base there, only a few have been documented.

  • 1974 Marine Corps. Ship “Alamo” visits the Numazu Port. This trip was planned and executed to deliver Marine troops to the area.


Points of Interest

  • Numazu Port Numazu Port is the destination of many Japanese and world wide activities. A village close to the Port is a national tourist attraction filled with great shops, superb seafood restaurants (noted as best in the world), and craft shops.
  • Kano River Described as a beautiful scene by tourists, the Kano River runs straight through Numazu City. This river is also home to great fishing companies which distribute goods throughout Japan and abroad.


Famous Faces

  • Shinji Ono Shinji Ono is a famous Japanese football player. Playing in the youth championship he quickly brought awareness to the importance of youth sports. Many Japanese football players look up to him as he was one of the best in his time.
  • Yasushi Inoue Yasushi Inoue is a great Japanese writer who is famous for his tremendously exciting fictional stories depicting made-up events in Japanese history. While some of his stories are based on actual events they have all been spiced up to give the historical event an even greater meaning.
