Overview

Satoshi Tsumabuki was born December 13, 1980 in Fukuoka, Japan and despite his young age he has amassed an extensive list of film credits. He has not only starred in many films in Japan, he also had a role in the American film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, where he played a character called “Exceedingly Handsome Guy.” In addition to his numerous movie roles, he is also the bassist and lead singer for the band “Basking Life.”

Awards

In 2002, Satoshi Tsumbuki was first nominated for Best Actor at the Japanese Academy Awards for his role in the film Waterboys. He also received the “Newcomer of the Year” award that year. In both 2006 and 2007 he was again nominated for Best Actor for his roles in Haru no yuki and Nada sô sô.

Satoshi Tsumbuki also won Best Actor awards at the Hochi Film Awards and the Kinema Junpo Awards in 2004 for his role in Joze to tora to sakana tachi. In 2002, he received a special award from the Japanese Professional Movie Awards. He also won the Best Actor Festival Prize in 2004 at the Yokohama Film Festival.
