Toyama Park

Toyama Park is located in the Shinjuku Ward of Tokyo, Japan. At this time the park functions mainly as a recreational facility for both children and adults. Game fields, open grassy areas, and children’s playground make for an entire evening of fun in the large green park.

History

Toyama Park was originally a large Daimyo Garden featuring one of the largest ponds in all of traditional Japan. Over the last 200 years the pond has slowly dried up and is now completely non-existent.


Things to See

  • Recreational Centers Serving as the primary focus of the park, the many recreational facilities and fields make finding room to run and play easy. Schools, sports teams, and individual sports lovers have chosen Toyama Park due to its tidiness, great layout, and large area.
  • Special Events at Toyama Park Toyama Park is home to many city events including large annual festivals celebrating the cheer of the cities people. The open area makes for great entertainment setup with plenty of room for hundreds of attendees. Aside from the city events there are also large and small gatherings of various community organizations.


Access

Toyama Park is accessible using the JR Yamanote Line traveling to Takadanobaba Station as well as the Shin-okubo Station. Once you have reached either station it is a 15 minute walk to Toyama Park.
