The Fukutoshin Line has been planned for decades and has been under construction for many years. The line was officially launched on Saturday, June 14, 2008. The mayor of Tokyo, [[Shintaro Ishihara]], was present for a launch party for the new line on June 13th, 2008.&lt;br /&gt;
