New page

Imperial Hotel Tokyo is a 4-star Luxury and Business hotel located in the Tokyo Station area of Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Location
The Imperial Hotel Tokyo is located directly across from the Imperial Palace, overlooking the Palace and Hibiya Koen. Tokyo Station is two stops away on the Yamanote Line. Nearest stations include Yurakucho Station, Shinbashi Station, and Ginza Station. It is within walking distance of Ginza.
Description
Founded in 1890, the hotel building was wooden and Victorian in style. In 1923, this structure was replaced by one designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. His design was put to the test that same year when a 7.8 magnitude devastated much of Tokyo. The Imperial Hotel was damaged, but intact and standing. In 1968, the Wright building was demolished after years of damage from the quakes, floods, wartime bombing, and pollution. Parts of it were rebuilt at Meijimura outside of Nagoya. Other parts were built into its replacement, which was erected in 1970.

The current hotel is European style hotel. The Imperial floor bears the touch of English decorator Julian Reed.

The Imperial Hotel Tokyo is one of three Tokyo hotels listed by "Leading Hotels of the World".

Facilities
