Yokosuka is a city in Japan located in the Kanagawa Prefecture. The city is located on the Tokyo Bay where it houses one of the most sufficient ports in all of Japan. The recorded population for this large sized city is 431,332 people in the 4,286km area.
The Yokosuka Port is located in a key area allowing quicker access to Tokyo. Cargo can be dropped off and sent to Tokyo city in less than an hour; a tremendous timeframe compared to that of more traditional ways sending the cargo through the high-traffic Tokyo Bay which adds hours to the trip.
Yokosuka started its earliest days as a castle town. This period did not last long as the entire empire was halted during a battle which took the life of the ruler. Another family of leaders took over the city changing its development plans and moving it into a much different direction.
Eventually Yokosuka was transformed into a military town housing much of the military organizations currently serving the Japan area. WWII turned the tables of the town taking over many of the Navel Bases where they now work out of.
Since the war the city has cleaned up and improved its overall image to the world. Serving as a great tourist town many come to the city to enjoy the beautiful scenery and booming economy.
