Zher the Zoo is a medium sized live music house located in Shibuya, Tokyo. Zher the Zoo opened in March of 2005. It is located in the popular music district of Shibuya, and despite being one of the smaller music halls in the area, is still a well known hangout spot for Japanese youth and artists. Many of the artists that play there play rock music and other types of acoustic music. Rarely are hard rock or rap played, and though indie bands are popular, it is not a common spot for many of the more well known indie groups.

You can leave the JR Yoyogi Station from the Mizuho Bank side, cross the street to Yoshnoya and walk forward. You should notice a first floor tavern with a Seven Eleven next door. The entire walk should take only a minute at most.
Since only 250 people fit standing into the Zher the Zoo hall, it is not one of the larger locations in Shibuya. But while many of the smaller locations tend to focus on a different aspect of the music industry (Pink Cow, for example, focuses on food and other art), Zher the Zoo is still the everyday live music hall, complete with a stage and a floor for dancing. There is a drink bar located across from the stage, while a DJ and VJ booth are connected to the side of the stage.
The entrance is directly next to the cloak room, and the green room for artists is a small room that is connected to the stage. There are 30 seats when the stage is not being used, but these are removed for all live concerts.
