Detective Conan: The Private Eyes’ Requiem (Meitantei Conan: Tantei-tachi no REQUIEM) is a full length animated movie that was released in 2006. It is the tenth movie in a line of very popular animes and stars the same characters that has made the other nine movies so much fun to watch.
Detective Conan (a.k.a. Conan Edogawa, a.k.a. Jimmy Kudo) and his friends Kogoro, Ayumi, Ran, Genta, Haibara and Mitsuhiko are all issued invitations to visit a new theme park. They eagerly accept and head for the park. When they get there they are all given wristbands and told that it is the only way to get free access to all the rides. Conan and Kogoro are asked to stay behind, and the two suspect nothing. They re then told that the wrist bands that the kids are wearing are actually bombs, and that if they do not solve the case by 10 p.m., the wrist bands will explode.
They are given a phone which has been activated to only receive incoming calls, and one clue. Kogoro and Conan head to an empty hotel and find information about a robbery that had taken place there. Kogoro ends up being arrested and that leaves just Conan to solve the case. The phone rings again and the caller calls Conan Jimmy, his real name, and gives him the next clue. Conan’s rival, Hattori Heiji, also becomes part of the movie when Kazuha is kidnapped and held captive. Conan has to put his differences with Hattori aside and work with him to solve the case.
A group of motorcycle thugs end up attacking Conan and he passes out. When he wakes up he finds that they are back at the theme park’s hotel and that Kogoro has been knocked out by Hattori. Conan unfolds the mystery for the mysterious man and explains that it was a strange triangle involving two friends and a woman. Each of them backstabbed the other during a robbery. In a very confusing and twisting story, Conan winds up saving the day again.
