The hotel is owned by the Mandarin Oriental Group, which operates hotels in Asia, the Americas, and Europe. The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is the only hotel in Japan they operate.

The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is located in the 400-year-old Nihonbashi area, within walking distance of Otemachi Station and twelve minutes walk from Tokyo Station. It is near Ginza and the Tokyo Station area. It is five minutes from the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The hotel begins on the 38th floor of a skyscraper, allowing impressive views. Decor is classic yet contemporary - westernb style guestrooms with Japanese touches.
The 179 rooms - 157 guestrooms and 22 suites - start with the 50-square-meter Deluxe Room and range all the way up to the 250-square-meter Presidential Suite. Rooms offer views of the Sumida River, Tokyo Bay, Imperial Palace, and/or Mount Fuji.
